Provide finance support to the Business or Functions. In relation to each of these Business areas, the role will have the following specific demands;
Attend, and actively participate in Functional Exco and Opco forums for all finance and broader commercial issues, providing thoughtful insight and direction as well as constructive debate and challenge.
Act as a finance partner to the business functional heads.
Proactively influence the strategic planning process and investment choices.
Assess and influence progress towards business goals (both quantitative and qualitative) by acting as a business counsellor and trusted advisor to the businesses.
Drive optimal resource usage and value creation across the business utilising all appropriate internal and external metrics and measures.
Drive operating model changes to ensure the Business / Function is at the forefront of the Finance operating model, and also to ensure future finance demands are proactively addressed. (e.g. more focus on functional analysis and challenge / Development of Service based cost allocations)
Deliver project reporting and robust challenge for all investment decisions including business cases & strategic projects
The role has responsibility for Business / Functional area financials, and will be expected to proactively influence the future shape and strategic direction across the broader business / functional lines
Influence the shape and direction of the future Finance operating model through proactive involvement and leadership of Finance Transformation as it impacts Business Services and Group Functions Finance.
Proactively support the Head of BI India across the breadth of that portfolio.
Support and challenge the cost allocation process, including divisional reviews as well as the in country legal entity recharges process and methodology.
Deputise for Head of BI as and when appropriate.
Provide direction and line management of a Business Intelligence team.
Suitably experienced Finance Professional with demonstrative track record of senior roles
Strong commercial awareness and Business acumen
Influencing and conflict resolution skills.
Able to build credible, long term relationships of influence with business executives
Comfortable facing off to business executives, and able to adapt to the changing requirements of business customers and stakeholders
Ability to communicate complex financial information in a concise, non-technical manner with recommendations
Lead, motivate and develop a team of finance professionals:
Execute Performance Management effectively
Communicate Business Services Finance strategy and Change Agenda
Seek staff feedback and implement action plans to address issues
Ensure adequate succession plans are in place and manage Talent.
Develop capability within the team.
