Candidate in this role will be required to operate in Pacific Time Zone (San Diego business hours). Lead and supervise the SW Engineering Compute Operations team
Manage operational and support responsibilities for numerous critical services supporting software engineering environment globally
Expected to support and troubleshoot existing systems, solve technical challenges, and enhance the reliability and performance for the services.
Provide first level technical support with an emphasis on customer service for Windows, Linux, UNIX, networking, enterprise applications.
Front-end Application and Systems support for Software Engineering Compute.
Basic troubleshooting of Windows & Linux related issues.
Basic troubleshooting of specific applications & tools.
Monitor daily operations and troubleshoot problems
Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation Perform upgrades, new installations, enhancements and configuration changes
Must be detail oriented to work highly dynamic environment
Must be able to interact with domestic and international Engineering Leads and Engineers
Working experience with HP Blade/Chassis hardware ecosystem (OA, ILO, etc.)
Experience in administering environments using (NFS, CIFS, ACLs).
In-depth understanding of operational concepts related to alerting, monitoring, logging.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Effective time management skills are a must.
Solid understanding of Linux and Windows server OS' fundamentals, NFS, CIFS, file systems, Networking, Performance tuning, Scripting, Active Directory.
Expereince on Linux/Unix (Ubuntu 12 & 14, RedHat Linux ES 5, and 6) AND/OR Microsoft OS (Windows 2012, Windows 2008, Windows 2003, MS Clustering).
Knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP and other networking concepts
Must be a self-starter, team player
Excellent troubleshooting skills and customer support experience Customer Service oriented and thrive in a dynamic environment
