Provide on-call Support on DDW Teradata Database.
Ability to quickly analyze and drive to resolution a complex production database issue in a 24x7 high pressure situation.
Work towards setting standards related to all aspects of Teradata database management.
Provides valuable inputs to establish priorities for Teradata database management function.
Provides Teradata solutions mapped to business/user and application development needs.
Identifies opportunities in database arena to address future business challenges or identify process improvements.
Works with data warehouse functional management to support strategic efforts
Ability to analyze database operational data, identify potential issues and proactively initiate resolution strategies with other application and IT support team.
Overall 6 to 8 years or relevant hands-on Database Administration or Any other administration or Support experience, preferably in Dell Data Warehouse or equivalent environment.
A minimum of 5 years experience or knowledge of Teradata Priority Scheduler, Teradata Active System management, hands on experience on managing highly complex mixed workload and Strong Teradata Query tuning skills.
Knowledge of Teradata Load and Unload Utilities, Workload management tools, Teradata Viewpoint, Teradata Datamover and Database Administration tools
Good knowledge on SQL tuning
Good knowledge on Unix/Linux shell scripting
Ability to communicate proactively and drive consensus
Must be organized and be able to put ideas into a tangible form
