Technical Superintendent shall perform responsibility of Superintendents in Kolkata for barge fleet management.
Superintendents shall be responsible for Operational management of barges under companys ownership and management.
Superintendents shall ensure that the vessel is kept fully operational in accordance with the ISM code.
Superintendents shall be the person ashore directly involved on day to day operation cum maintenance and all LSA/FFA/ Navigational & Communication / Pollution management / Annual surveys / Renewal of Certificates and safety aspects of the vessels and will keep the company fully abreast with the operation readiness of vessels.
Superintendents shall visit the barges regularly and during these visits, the Master and the Engineer Officer will be directly responsible to the superintendent.
Superintendents shall directly liaison with the surveyors / statutory bodies on behalf of the company.
Provide inputs for preparation of budget.
Carrying out Ships visit as per ISM code(complying with best PMS practices)
To ensure that crew personnel carry out the relevant planned maintenance schedule in accordance with the policy agreed with the technical manager.
To monitor vessels class and trading certificate to ensure timely renewal and / or Survey.
Drawing up and follow up vessels asset.
Raising indents and follow up of purchase orders and supplies.
Monitor timely release of POs and payments to vendors
Plan maintenance cycle of safety items.
Follow up vessels reporting forms with appropriate feedback.
Follow up vessels maintenance program to make sure it is fully updated on a daily basis by the technical manager and it should reflect the true condition of the vessel.
Management of fuel consumption and pollution control
To assist in dealing of Marine insurance claims
To keep abreast of rules / administration orders and make suggestions regarding their application
Standing by in case of emergency procedure.
Auditing of Master data records and logs onboard
Annual servicing of equipments like aqua guard, AC, FFA/LSA etc.
Fluent English spoken and written.
Prepared to travel on short notice.
Marine Engineer / Naval Arch / Diploma in Ship Building
MEO Class I / II
At least Ten years sailing / Shipyard management / Operations experience
Second Engineer / Chief Engineer / Shipyard manager
Qualification Candidate must be B.E. / B. Tech . Mechanical / Marine
Experience - 15-25 yrs
