Job Description

Represent Engineering in all customer projects for Indian application programs.
Capture and clearly understand/communicate the voice of the customer (robust application of product designs)
Provide innovative solutions to customer in application of organisation standard aggregates.
Identify the design/engineering changes required to engineer company's aggregates on OEM products
Providing optimum packaging solutions/support to OEMs
Integration of components like axle, suspension, drive lines etc on a vehicle.
Provide technical presentations to local OEMs to promote and/or improve compan technical image.
Ensure the robust application of bookshelf solutions in line with the product strategies of the centers of expertise.
Develop customer intimacy and provide competitive technical solutions to meet customer and organisational needs
Benchmark competitors products and provide feedback to the COE of market trends and company's position and opportunities within the local market.
Coordinate the technical content of the customer RFQs
Ensure & execute a full analysis of customer specification before RFQ submission to the customer.
Ensure all product design are fully validated to OEM & company's specifications prior to release for production
Work with suppliers to develop and validate designs for functional performance, manufacturing feasibility and quality
Measure & ensure customer satisfaction, quality, cost and delivery
Support business representatives for technical discussions with customers on standard products.
Facilitate contacts with customers for other engineering departments
Use the C2C process on all awarded programs.
Provide technical support in field failure analysis & product validation by customer.
Assess and report performance for engineering sustaining related activities
Support operations on manufacturing an quality issues (8Ds). and for In Process testing if needed.
Support purchasing on Material price variance (MPVs) and technical changes(TCs)
Identification of TCs
Implementation of TCs on time
Manage PDM system & CR Tracking locally
Manage Material database events etc to identify issues affecting vehicle performance & reliability.
Ability to write concise technical summaries on technical features for customer appraisal. Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Support growth verticals like Off highway / Military & Suspension, Commercial Vehicle & LCV etc for strategy development & execution
Develop understanding of competition product offering
Develop understanding of customer needs & understand company's current product gaps


Lead marketing event management
Auto Expo 2016 / Defense & Off-high way expos
Aftermarket trade shows / Meeting with fleets, end users of trucks.

Technology day at OEM customer location
Branding: Promote organisation brand in India in line with the Global branding strategy.

Understand the current organisation r global branding strategy requirements.

Review promotional material brochures, corporates gift & plan for improvement.

Review Video marketing opportunities for India & plan for improvement.

Aftermarket branding strategy alignment with OE & India business strategy.

Component branding strategy.
