Layer : P3C Job Description We are looking for an experienced JBoss/ Websphere Administrator to operate at the highest technical level and provide direction and recommendations to install, operate, and configure JBoss/ Websphere and related components. This position will ensure high levels of availability and security for business applications, and will lead the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure WebSphere provisioning and support is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities a. Supervise the testing, maintenance, and monitoring of computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems b. Perform installation, upgrade, configuration, deployment, and administration of JBoss, WebSphere and Apache systems and applications. c. Coordinates JBoss, WebSphere and Apache version upgrades, software fixes, and preventative maintenance to minimize risk and service disruptions. d. Coordinates with application team and migrate WebSphere application to JBoss platform. e. Resolve highly complex issues and implements projects at an advanced technical level regarding JBoss/ WebSphere systems operations and be recognized across the organization as a thought leader for JBoss/ WebSphere and web- dependent areas of expertise. Operate with considerable latitude for un- reviewed action or decision. f. Develops architecture, standards, and procedures for implementation and support of the JBoss/ WebSphere systems and considers their integration with the balance of the IT infrastructure and support teams. g. Often acts as team leader on projects. Establishes and communicates common goal and direction for the team. Monitors project schedules and costs. Schedules and may supervise project work. Assist with the review and evaluation of personnel performance. h. Analyzes and evaluates JBoss/ WebSphere systems operations and provides expert technical direction and recommendations to improve utilization. Implement automation procedures and tools to optimize staff and computing resources and their availability. Creates and analyzes reports accordingly. i. Act as a liaison between internal and external user communities. Collaborates with application support staff to design and provision services, and troubleshoot problems. j. Work to ensure user satisfaction by coordinating installation, configuration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and quick resolution of problems of the most complex nature. Resolve highly complex availability, capacity, and performance issues. k. Conducts training for, and directs the efforts of, end users, outside vendors and less experienced staff. l. Designs JBoss/ WebSphere security architecture and administers access. Lead efforts in periodic security audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation. m. Provides after- hours and weekend support as needed. Required Skill Set a. Middleware (JBoss, Websphere Application Server ) technology b. JBoss/ JWS 3.x c. WebSphere 7 and 8.5 d. Proficient in Linux and/ or UNIX Shell scripting e. Proficient in load balancing and JBoss Clustering along with configuring SSL for various channel across the JBoss f. Knowledge of Java/ J2EE g. WebSphere JDBC integration with Oracle, Oracle RAC, and Microsoft SQL Server, WebSphere JMS and SIB technology h. UNIX shell scripting (ksh, sh, csh, bash) i. Web security vulnerabilities and remediation j. Preferred Skill Set k. IBM Worklight l. Redhat Linux m. J2EE application development and deployment, JMS and SIB technology n. Scripted application deployments and continuous build methodology o. Version control systems such as Subversion or Serena PVCS p. BMC Remedy Action Request System q.
