Job Description

JD-Plant Logistic Manager
Orders Management
Execution of orders send by dealers/Sales team on daily basis where funds and stocks are available
Coordinate with RLMs/S&OP/sales team to get the orders as per plan
Analyse inventory trend and reduce ageing inventory with the coordination with sales team
Achieve order to invoice service ratio as per guidelines
Convert part load to dispatchable load with regular coordination with RLMs/Sales Team
Logistics Management
Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations with internal stake holders, Logistics service providers, dealers and customers
Implement logistics principles, policies and processes to improve operational and financial performances
Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within the budgetary requirements
Monitor delivery performances from Invoice to delivery and logistics cost for both internal and external services
Negotiate rates and contract terms with logistics service provider
Recommend optimal transport modes, routes to achieve the desired delivery performance
Monitor and improve logistics service provider performance on weekly, monthly and yearly frequency
Ensure carriers compliance with company policies or procedures for vehicle transit or delivery
Review impact of logistics changes in the form of routing, transportation modes or carriers and inform all stake holders
Conduct periodic inventory audit with internal and external agency to maintain inventory accuracy
Keep track of slow moving and obsolete stock for optimal utilization of yard space
Interpret trends and analyse data to improve customer service and cost improvements
Ensure metrics, reports and process documentation are in place as per company guidelines
Ensure all completed orders are billed and dispatched on time
Ensure vehicles are transported appropriately to ensure safe delivery at dealers/customers end
Ensure vehicles get delivered as per company specified Standard Transit Time
Ensure compliance to be maintained at every logistics process
People Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected with the logistics process especially with Plant PPC/Manufacturing/Quality Team, Dealers, internal sales team.
Manage, coach and develop high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
Set department KPIs and review mechanism for the team to achieve the desired results
Ensure all functions under supervision operate as per company policies and guideline
Coordinate and organize training for internal staff and drivers periodically
Budgeting and Control
Prepare departmental budget and adhere expenses within the budget
Monitor and reduce Logistics and Operation cost
Coordinate with insurance companies and finance team to settle insurance claim as per defined timeline
Dealers Management
Apprise dealers on logistics performance on periodic basis
Solve dealers query within prescribed time frame
Assist in faster settlement of Transit Insurance claims
System & Process Development
Process identification
Ensure development of new process/ SOP as per requirement & implementation
Ensure adherence to all statuary audit compliance
Representation on compliance audit i.e IMS, safety
Preparedness for MOC
Establishing Safety Culture
Ensure safety culture in all area
Ensure & adherence to Safety Audits
Ensuring for continuous work on Accident Prevention & Risk mitigation
Identifying associated hazard and mitigation plan before establishing new process
Reviewing HIRA (Hazzard Identification and Risk Analysis) for Hazard identification & mitigation plan
Reviewing SEEA (System Of Environment-Economic Accounting) for associated impact on environment
Conducting and Participating in safety meeting
Skills and Attributes
Management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development
Good communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, analytical and planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at a time
Sound commercial and financial acumen
Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including knowledge and understanding of ERP/SAP system
Sound MS office skills Excel and Power Point
Prior experience of working in Logistics/Distribution function in Automotive company
