Job Description

The job holder will manage a team of 5/8 finance team members. He/she will lead, direct and control financial management for the regional entities in accordance with statutory requirements, corporate policies and procedures
The job holder will contribute to the delivery of management and external reporting, in respect of statutory accounts, regulatory accounts and other external outputs, as well as the provision of technical financial accounting advice and guidance
The job holder will report into the Head of Finance India
Technical Activities
Review updates to and maintenance of general ledger and sub-ledgers detail for accounts such as fixed assets, prepayments, intangibles and accruals
Review month end balance sheet reconciliations
Review GL allocations
Review journal entries
Review period end adjustments (e.g., accruals, currency conversions, etc.)
Review management and regulatory reports
Manage and supervise the completion of relevant month-end & year end activities including HFM loading
Compliance with Group attestation processes
Review and sign-off relevant regulatory reports
Liaise with and respond to external & internal audit queries
Lead budget and forecast production for entities in remit
Develop sound professional working relationships with Finance shared services teams
Lead, line manage and develop the GL team, supporting study and training needs
Be a core participant at weekly operational and monthly SLA meetings
Responsible for pro-active and regular communication with other areas of Finance whose work impacts, or depends upon, the GL & Reporting team
Writes and speaks fluently on all aspects of work and communicates effectively with all levels of management
Actively communicate and seek feedback from colleagues and customers
Be supportive and encourage support for people initiatives
Play a participative part in Team Briefs
Be proactive in the provision of feedback and the delivery of ideas to develop and improve solutions relating to Finance services, in particular those within the GL & Reporting team
Ensure feedback to line manager outlining general activities of role and how we are doing
Undertakes any necessary training associated with the duties of the post and participates in training and development procedures
Complies with all Company Health and Safety policies and legislation in the performance of their duties and responsibilities
Maintains confidentiality and observes data protection guidelines
Manage expenses in accordance with Company Expense Policy
Carries out any other reasonable duties commensurate with their capability
Have a strong background in management of a Finance Accounting environment
Be a qualified Chartered Accountant with 5-6 years of PQE
Excellent knowledge of current regulations including IFRS, UK GAAP, Companies Acts, Regulatory Licenses, Sarbanes Oxley an advantage
Degree or equivalent
Good knowledge of core financial systems and general accounting procedures
A committed and valued team player
Have the ability to approach technical problems in a thorough and logical manner
Have good communication and presentation skills
SOURCING GUIDELINES -
1)Work experience into GL,AP,FA,AR is required.
2)We can look at candidates outside Mumbai. Provided there is a valid/genuine reason of relocation.
3)Relocation cost will be taken care by the company as per their policy
4)Need to source candidates from companies that are into banking services from the finance shared service team. Someone who has experience in transition projects onshore offshore
5) need a candidate who has handled team including their PMS and general day-to-day activities responsibility.
