Job Description

Basic Function:
 
The Sr. Data Governance Consultant is a strong Data Governance Lead with an ability to serve as liaison between both the client business and technical teams for our Data Governance consulting projects. Provide vision and leadership to inspire clients on their Data Governance journey. Scope includes leading Data Governance assessments and implementation tasks and deliverables.


Essential Functions: 
- Work with all levels of client to design and lead implementation of data governance solutions, tailored to work in different client environments.
- Play an advisory role with clients to understand their business needs and how to translate requirements into Data Governance solutions.
- Conduct Data Governance assessments, develop recommendations, templates and roadmaps based on required deliverables.
- Develop business cases for Data Governance programs.
- Lead Data Governance working sessions with the client.
- Contribute to the advancement of the Data Governance practice by adding to best practices, providing thought leadership, supporting the sales team and coaching more junior colleagues on Data Governance.
- Implement, configure and maintain hardware for test instances of Data Governance software.
- Lead and coach other Data Governance team members on an engagement.
- Stay informed of best practices consistent with new technologies and customer needs. Recommend removal of out of date practices and implement beneficial changes and improvements for Data Governance.
- Contribute to the advancement of the Datasource Data Governance practice by adding to best practices, providing thought leadership, supporting the sales team and coaching more junior colleagues on Data Governance.
- Market delivery capabilities and Datasource by writing articles and delivering presentations and webinars.
- Work with Competency Director to develop goals to continue to enhance our delivery capabilities

Primary Internal Interactions
Project Delivery: 
- Formulates workable solutions that integrate people, process and technology. Integrates competency leads and other subject matter experts to define the details of vision and solution
- Identifies, creates and communicates the vision of the end-to-end solution for the client and implementation teams after completing thorough evaluations of the present state needs
- Leads technical teams in documenting and implementing technical solutions for business problems
- Supports Delivery Enablement and Practice Leads by ensuring appropriate linkage between practices is clear and well understood
- Works with practice leads to develop project estimating methodologies for new areas of focus
Account & Resource Management : 
- Partners with the account teams to identify and sell solutions and create high level of client interest in proposed comprehensive solutions
- Works closely with Engagement Managers, Account Managers and Account Leads in strategies to grow existing accounts
- Partners with account team and client to develop the ROI, Business Case, and Statement of Work for an engagement
Develops comprehensive project, implementation, and resource plans working closely with Engagement and Project Managers
Primary External Interactions: 
Assessment Participation & Leadership: 
- Identifies, creates and communicates the vision of the end-to-end solution for the client and implementation teams after completing thorough evaluations of the present state needs
- Participates in strategy development and current state assessments for clients to identify opportunities. Acts as proxy for practice leads when necessary
- Works with client to sell the proposed solution and develop internal marketing programs
- Supports work that may not fall into an existing competency and helps to identify possible needs for new competencies.
- Partners with account team and client to develop the ROI, Business Case, and Statement of Work for an engagement
Organizational Relationships

Minimum of 8 years in a Senior Business / Data Analyst role.- Experience in developing a Data Governance operating model where none exists today, or assessing and improving on an existing Data Governance operating model.

- Experience working with business / technical development team / data stewards to clearly document Data Governance and metadata requirements.

- Experience with Data Governance tools such as Collibra or Informatica.

- Experience with Data Catalog tools such as Informatica EDC or Alation.

- Strong experience in interviewing and group facilitation.

Process Specific Skills :- Display a strong executive presence with the ability to be an effective trusted advisor.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.

- Demonstrate critical thinking, logical and analytical problem-solving.

- Advanced understanding of Enterprise Data Management concepts and prior consulting background (preferred).

- Lead small teams while navigating politics in large client environments.

- Understand when and how to apply Data Governance tools.- Ability to travel for client engagements.Soft skills (Desired) :- Experience working with multi-divisional business communities to leverage information across the enterprise to improve business effectiveness

- Strong team building, interpersonal, analytical, problem identification and resolution skillsSoft Skills (Minimum) :- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities

- Strong written/oral communication and presentation/interpersonal skills

- Highly self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment

Education Requirements : Engineering graduate B.E, B.Tech, equivalent Work Experience Requirements: 8-12 relevant work experience in Data Governance is required.
