Job Description

Scope of work Serve as the English-language expert on complex and challenging financial research/consulting assignments focused across the globe, particularly in the India. Review and add value to reports written at the organization through rephrasing, rewriting and ensuring compliance with our clients writing style guide. Make constructive suggestions for improving analysts writing styles and grammatical consistency. Sanity check of numbers in the reports (tables footings and reconciliations between tables and numbers mentioned in the text) Write forwards and summaries for reports based on rough input material Be responsible for ensuring the highest quality and timely delivery for all projects assigned. Understand the nature of requests and execute language quality assurance across a range of deliverables company reports (FDD/VDD/proposal), industry/segment reports, projections, hypothesis analysis, white papers, business development support, etc. Independently and efficiently handle multiple projects. Liaise with analysts and SMEs on editorial value addition, in sync with intended messages to be conveyed in deliverables. Apply their corporate communication and brand standards to the range of material requested. Understand the financial and technical terms and should be able to make changes in sync with the current standards being followed in finance industry. Essential skills required: Proficiency in different styles of English (the US, the UK, Australian), as well as various schools of style (including Chicago and AP). Background in financial and business research able to understand financial concepts and add value. Ability to effectively edit content without tampering with or moving away from the original intended meaning of technical content. Must be able to convey key messages in succinctly without losing the meaning or impact. Excellent communication skills; Verbal skills must be on par with those of a native speaker. Ability to work under pressure, handle crunched timelines, turnaround swiftly and be adaptive to frequent changes in the nature of requests. Ability to prioritize and plan efficiently when dealing with multiple stakeholders. Proactive team player with a solution-centric approach. Experience The candidate must have 23 years of relevant experience in a similar role (with a professional services/research firm/KPO would be an advantage). Prior research experience for India markets will be an advantage. Education/professional qualifications: MBA/CFA/CA/ M.Com./PG in Communications / English / Certifications or diplomas in editing and/or writing (preferred).
