Job Description

Identify the faulty hardware through error codes, event logs, wrap test, SNMP test & engage to get the precise part from service provider Plan replacements in a structured manner such as change plan, change approval, minimal or no down time Work with hot swappable devices Configure network link aggregation (teaming or IP Multicasting), Configure SCSI, FSCSI, Ethernet, TCPIP, Configure redundant hardware with respect to disk, network adapters. Good understanding of Vendors - HP, Dell OS Administration Perform system dump Analyze and identify the rootcasue (of memory leakage issues, disk expansions, partition issues) Upgrade or migrate of OS to next version. Create SOPs and best practices Decide Allow or Deny Ports and services using OS native Firewall, Upgrade the device drivers. Decipher the penetration test results perform vulnerability tests, have good knowledge of scripting install and debug third party applications Clustering Configure application high availability Configure application start and stopping scripts. Check IP and NonIP heartbeats Check cluster logs and trouble shoot cluster start errors Troubleshoot cluster synchronization issues and fix them. Virtualization Create and configure virtual machines Create a baseline for patching Isolate issues using log files(events and errors) Estimate the snap shot size and datastore/ storage pool/ virtual space or vdisks size based on the server usage and growth capacity . Backup & Disaster Recovery Restore backups using OS native commands, backup wizards. Troubleshoot backup failures. Ability to generate report, automate backup reports and its historical data Manage backup policy (such as creation, modification, drop). Restore backups (file, directory, over the LAN/ WAN, System backup (such as system Tate/ Operating System Image backup and restoration using the System Image clones) Storage Work with different tiers of RAID'ed arrays Use OS commands to assess whether LUN is properly assigned to OS with proper multiple paths. Work with storage team for any HBA controller related issues Identify if FC card attached to switch properly Identify faulty connectivity between Server FC adapters and Storage Switch. Active Directory Work on new policy creation, dropping policies, computer objects, move FSMO roles Create scope and super scope for DHCP Server Troubleshoot any Directory services issues Create Directory services replication sites, and trouble shoot any related issues Troubleshoot Directory disaster recovery issues Antivirus Deploy AV policies and tasks Isolate issues during virus/ malware threats, or any new virus/ malware announcement from the vendor. Work on AV diagnose tools. KPIs a. Customer Experience Measure: CSAT 1 formal client appreciation per quarter b. At least 3 Technology proposition for improvement / best practice per quarter Value: Contribute to at least 1 project/ initiative which can be classified as Value for customer Issue/ Escalation: Zero escalations related to Technology deliverables Zero escalations with respect to technology skillset with in team Operations & Compliance a. Program KPI and key G&Os: Achievement of SLAs / KPIs as per program goals & objective - All green status b. Productivity & Service Excellence c. Atleast 1 structured automation initiative for process improvement per quarter - Suggested and documented for outcome / benefits d. Contribute 3 technology specific new KB article every quarter Technology SIP per quarter Drive 1 technology best practice implementation per quarter 100% compliance to service & security management processes defined. Zero NC identified on deliverables during process and transactional audits. 100% adherence & implementation to QMS processess defined by organization in accounts. Process & Contractual Compliance 100% Compliance to Contract Compliance Employee Lifecycle Process Compliance Access, OJT, Induction, Forward Planning, Feedback Knowledge Management Program Specific Compliance Information Security Policy, Procedure & Practices Integrity & Compliance:100% execution of all tasks as per the customer & compliance requirements Talent Management Retention Measure: Achievement of retention goals of 80 percent annualized Succession planning across the function/ team to reduce single point failure and dependency Team Mobility & Development Skill Index evaluation of all employees half yearly Development of 10% of Sr. Admin as TS Atleast 1 Structured Training Session for the team every quarter Have a formal documented Individual Development Plan (IDP) for every team member highlighting the development needs pertaining to training & development and track it to closure. Contribute towards achieving or sustaining the organization wide MI Voice score at 70. Self Development To identify and plan for certification Management (Atleast 1 technology certification) and development in Presentation Skills, Situation Management, Mentoring, Analytical thinking. Customer Centricity & drive towards innovation & excellence. Source of measurement will be Training / Certification record with Learning & Development team Acquire 1 additional technology skillset in a year Acquire knowledge on 1emerging technology in a year & ensure knowledge is disseminated to team members.
