Realizing investment and process improvement projects in APMEA, supporting regional Affiliates and Competence Centres in their industrial and operational development,
according to the Group Operations Strategy and the yearly budgets and objectives.
Project Management: using and influencing/coaching the local Management Team to use the PM methodology defined as standard within the Group.
Project execution: Project execution within projects objectives and time schedule. The Project Engineer must have a high added value in setting up and maintaining the project schedule, checking the milestones, communicating the warnings and deviations. The execution itself is done by the local team and the contractors. The Project Engineer has to follow up, control, advice and assist during the execution. To some extent and when necessary, he plays the role of Project Manager himself.
Budget control: assisting the Project Manager in estimating costs, collecting reliable data relative to engaged and/or spent amounts, etc
Communication: ensure a transparent, fluent and effective communication within the Groups matrix organization as well as with external partners (suppliers, contractors, engineering companies, authorities, etc.);
Responsible for the compliance of the conceptual design with the project objectives and with local specifications and requirements.
Evaluation of the basic and detailed design according to the general design requirements. General design requirements are:
- Group S&E Policy & Standards
- Operational efficiency
- State of the art process and utilities set up
- Food industry hygienic standards (HACCP, BRC, EHEDG, etc.)
- Optimal life cycle cost
Coach the local operation teams with the implementation, evaluation and improvements of PIPE-, KPI-, Safety Control- and Energy Saving programs.
Support local operations with technical assistance (technical problems, line optimization, etc)
Increase the technical and operational skills of the field based colleagues by organizing seminars and training in close collaboration with R&D.
Follow up of the technical/technological evolution in the food industry (suppliers, magazines, fairs, courses, )
Communicate and share this knowledge with colleagues and peers.
Minimum 5 years experience as support engineer or industrial related operation activities.
Minimum 3 years experience in project organisations.
Demonstrated project management skills
Multi-lingual and open for other cultures
Accept regional travelling up to 50% of the time (trips of some days to some weeks)
