Job Description

This key position in the IT Quality Assurance Services group is primarily responsible for the overall quality and testing of various applications and projects across different domains. This role will work under minimal supervision to define/analyze technical risks associated to new or modified software applications and then execute performance tests and analyze/interpret results to mitigate the risks. The role would own the end-to-end planning, design, set-up and execution of the performance tests and work collaboratively with the technical teams to analyze and resolve issues. The role is also instrumental in driving organization wide Quality improvement initiatives aimed towards improving the performance of the systems as well as influencing, mentoring, coaching and providing direction to the QA Services and other system implementation groups.\n\n\no Responsible for the performance testing of applications and systems; partnering with project teams on thorough performance analysis and testing\n\n\no Requires thorough technical, analytical and operational knowledge within the QA area of accountability with specific responsibilities for design, development and implementation of test strategies to mitigate technical risk\n\n\no Set performance goals and ensures that technical and performance objectives are met.\n\n\no Ensures the host/application metrics are collected and analyzed, in regards to performance of the systems\n\n\no Maintain schedules and coordinates activities for project efforts while maintaining high quality execution\n\n\no Ensure the appropriate testing and monitoring tools/technologies are employed to fulfill test objectives/project requirements\n\n\no Analyze current processes and practices and drive improvements\n\n\no Review requirements and seeks clarity, participates in solution design reviews, and works with the development architect and development team to make any design improvements and refinement as needed\n\n\no Create comprehensive QA Test Plan and Test Strategy focused around performance testing\n\n\no Responsible for identifying and documenting Test Scenarios and Test Cases that provide performance testing coverage of the systems being impacted by the project\n\n\no Execute functional, performance, and security testing in accordance to the existing processes and standards\n\n\no Responsible for preparing trends, metrics, and reports for projects and overall performance testing/posture across systems and provide to management\n\n\no Drive proactive continuous improvements to Test coverage, execution, and automation\n\n\no Coach and mentor QA team, including vendors\n\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\n\no B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science/Engineering or Equivalent\n\n\no 7+ years\' experience in Performance Testing using HP LoadRunner or HP Performance Center\n\n\no Independently develop test scripts using LoadRunner, create test scenarios and execute tests\n\n\no Analyze performance testing results and write test reports\n\n\no Experience in Load/Performance testing and monitoring of applications using HP Performance Center, LoadRunner or other commercial/custom tools like HP Diagnostics, SiteScope, Fiddler, AppDynamics etc.\n\n\no Experience in database, data analysis, SQL and design skills\n\n\no Strong technical/functional knowledge and experience with performance testing of ERP applications, Web applications and Web Services using various protocols\n\n\no Self-motivated, able to work independently, and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision\n\n\no Result oriented and have a high degree of accountability, commitment, and responsibility\n\n\no Knowledge of current industry-wide Quality & Test processes and practices, tools and techniques\no Effective written/oral communication and negotiation skills\no Able and willing to work with Business and Project teams in USA, Asia Pacific or Europe including outside of normal working hours\no Able to work and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously in fast paced environment\no Must demonstrate good time management skills and be able to prioritize work to successfully meet all deliverables and timeframes\n========================================\nSymantec is an equal opportunity employer.
