Job Description

The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production & manufacturing to ensuring policies & procedures are followed. He will develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality & productivity. The Plant Managers responsibilities also include leading the operation & maintenance staff, the daily management & coordination of plant operations including production, logistics & maintenance while ensuring compliance with all labour, safety, environmental & corporate policies & regulations.
Direct & coordinate plant operations within company policies & procedures.
Maintain a clean & safe plant.
Establish & direct plant policies & procedures.
Remove waste & constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies & enhance productivity
Increase production, assets capacity & flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs & maintaining current quality standards
Establish & maintain a positive community relationship.
Foster a well-trained & motivated staff.
Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, & shipping.
Responsible for establishing all shift production schedules.
Review established production schedules for all manufacturing departments to insure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible
Remove production constraints; allocate human & equipment resources & direct production employees to attain all established goals
Conduct performance appraisals & provide training, coaching & guidance to all operations employees.
Work closely with the HSE Manager to ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies to provide a safe workplace for all employees
Schedule & conduct plant meetings.
Responsible for the product quality control for the plant.
Attend scheduled corporate training & meetings.
Work with purchasing manager to develop & improve supplier relationships.
Communicate with research & development as well as product management personnel to develop new product strategies
Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends & areas of improvement.
Any other function as may be assigned by the COO & GMD
