Job Description

To be involved with strategic planning activities for the company and to align the engineering support functions to the core business of the company. Headline key result area: Evaluate plant availability daily. Consolidate results weekly Co-ordinate and advice on process shutdown functions and give advice on maintenance work where required. Evaluate and advice on material usage variances. Do routine standby. Coordination of all resources Participate in Hazop studies. Coordinate inspections of the plant. Maintain current equipment in a good state of readiness at all times Plan annual shutdown. Co-ordinate and plan improvement projects to optimise plant performance. Manage all maintenance projects for plant, including outside contractors working on these projects. Continually strive to improve plant, including safety, health and environmental aspects. Communicate with buyers regarding ordering tools and labour. Communicate internally with production/maintenance and other departments thus ensuring efficient, effective operations. Effective communication and co-operation with other parties to ensure that maintenance requirements are fully understood and met Carry out all practical training. Proactive approach to training. Prepare morning report on plant performance, checking all downtime data provided by supervisors. Participate in process/maintenance morning meetings and report on performance and plant availibility. Attend daily production meetings and report on performance. Compile monthly budget variance information. Do analysis of historical downtime for problem identification purposes. Activities includes: (Unit Standard Critical Cross-field Outcomes) Meeting all Legal, Company and manufactures specifications. Solve problems in which responses display that responsible decisions, using critical and creative thinking, have been made. Work effectively with others as a member of a team, group, organisation or community. Identification and knowledge of all components and other equipment used in the Plant. Lock out procedures. Organise and manage himself and his activities responsibly and effectively. Collect, analyse, organise and critically evaluate information. Use science and technology effectively and critically, showing responsibility towards the environment and health of others. Good communication methods and skills. Maintaining operating parameters and control methods. Optimum equipment performance. Operating the plant in accordance with the following legal acts and regulations: Relevant Acts: e.g. Occupational Health & Safety Act; Basic Conditions of Employment Act; Machineries Act Mandatory Codes of Practice. ISO and other relevant Standards. Site specific: SHREQ Training. Section Training Material Desired Candidate Profile: Qualified BE - Mechanical with 10- 15 years of experience in chemical industry . Candidate should have experience in phosphuric or sulphuric plants. Candidate willing to relocate to South Africa may only apply. General knowledge of a production plant will be advantageous to the applicant. Leadership and management qualities Ability to communicate effectively, expressing ideas effectively both verbal and written. Computer literate on Foskor maintenance system, DCS, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.Should have undergone the below trainings First Aid General Safety, Health & Environmental Training. (GHSTC) HIRA (Risk Analysis) SHEQ COP Basic Course Environmental Occupational Hygiene. Environmental Awareness. Quality Awareness. SHE-Rep Basic Fire Fighting
