Job Description

Global Brand Protection is the function which protects our business from counterfeit products. The function has a regional brand protection manager in each key P&G region supported by a global Centre of Excellence from other key disciplines such as forensics, intelligence and packdev. The brand protection / anti-counterfeit program has senior leadership support as we work to combat a global issue which is costing our business in the region of $1-2billion each year.

The successful candidate would ideally have a legal, GR or law enforcement background and will become the Single Point of Contact responsible for leading and promoting anti counterfeiting work in the Region and working with the E-IMEA Operations Group Brand Protection leader and CoE to implement our key brand protection strategies:


The successful candidate will work with CR and CMK to assess the scale of the counterfeit threats in the region.
Educate and update regional business and marketing leaders on counterfeit issues.
Locate, recruit, manage and train third party investigators in each country to assist with investigations raids and seizures. Ensuring our standard FCPA contract is in place and our companys PVPs and compliance laws are followed.
Manage and provide oversight on all directed investigative efforts to ensure the quality, validity, and appropriate scope of the investigation.
Develop effective relationships with customs and law enforcement within the Region.
Report all results and intelligence on a regular basis within BRAND PROTECTION databases
Work with sales to enable direct coverage of genuine products following raids and seizures
Meticulously plan and manage the Regional BRAND PROTECTION budget, ensuring that fiscal responsibility is practiced and demonstrated in line with expectations and within purchasing guidelines.
Fully understand and uniformly apply the BRAND PROTECTION standards, practices, and CBAs contained within the Brand Protection SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).

JOB KNOWLEDGE: (can be trained in these aspects)
Deep knowledge of the risk and threats presented to the Company by counterfeiting
Deep knowledge of tactics utilized by counterfeiters to infiltrate the legitimate market with fake goods.
Deep knowledge of Company PVP, policies, accepted practices, and contracts covering investigative services providers and thorough knowledge of Global BRAND PROTECTION SOPs.
Deep understanding of accepted, sound investigative strategies and tactics pertaining to matters of BRAND PROTECTION.
Deep understanding of anti-counterfeiting legislative and law enforcement practices, including prosecutorial options within the Region.
Deep knowledge of Customs and law enforcement approaches to BRAND PROTECTION matters and level of interest therein, and framework of Customs practices within the Region and at ports directly affecting product supplies in the Region.
Deep understanding of the Regional brand marketing, selling, and distribution organization and familiarity with the key Regional leaders.
Broad understanding of sales processes and strategies, supply chain logistics and purchasing.
Broad understanding of brand strategies and go to market approach.
General knowledge of the Companys Brands, Business Units, and geographies.

Job Qualification: Leadership:The successful candidate possesses & demonstrates a high degree of leadership competence with the ability to build effective internal and external networks, leverage the scale of Company as well as all components of a multi-functional team, and exude a broad spirit of collaboration across all aspects of the BRAND PROTECTION program. Demonstrated openness and honesty are paramount, as is the ability to influence both internal and external resources and ensure clear communication of / unwavering progress toward Global and Regional BRAND PROTECTION goals & objectives.

Job Qualification: Communication:The successful candidate possesses and demonstrates strong verbal and written communications skills. The ability to clearly present expectations, guidance, and training as well as aligned goals & objectives to all components of the Regional multi-functional team, present an effective & compelling case to management resulting in full buy-in, and verbally influence law enforcement/Customs, 3rd party services providers, modern retailers, HFS and others is essential. The ability to deliver effective, accurate, timely and value-added written communications and reports documenting and evaluating program essentials and results is necessary. The candidate must have the ability to clearly articulate the counterfeit problem and the need for investment of resources and funding to accomplish the mission.

Job Qualification: Innovation & Strategic Thinking:the successful candidate demonstrates the ability to consistently think innovatively, seeking and finding new and better methods to accomplish goals & objectives while aligned with overall business strategies and proactively identifying potential issues before problems arise. The ability to be a dynamic problem solver in evaluating opportunities, making decisions, analyzing situations, recognizing patterns, and implementing appropriate and effective BRAND PROTECTION risk mitigation strategies is essential.

Job Qualification: Attention to Detail: the successful candidate demonstrates a detail oriented approach to all aspects of their role. The ability to maintain consistent awareness of/compliance to policy & procedure, FCPA requirements, WBCM, etc., demonstrated unquestioned integrity, and grace under fire are essential attributes. The candidate must be flexible and adaptable to both immediate and long term changes demanded in the role and consistently in touch with the business to be effective.
