Lead Engineer - Thermal Analysis within TD function

Purpose of the Job

To have competencies/skills in AT-BGL team to support on Projects, Bids, tenders execution

Organisational Reporting

Direct reporting to Domain Manager- CBS


Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Is accountable for the Delivery of CarbodyShell Engineering outputs, in compliance with the Engineering QCD commitments.

o Deploys and applies on project Train Design development procedures.

o Monitors, controls and consolidates his workpackage. As such:
- Organizes and leads his workpackage reviews for the project he/she is in charge,
- Manages Risk Assessment and Mitigation Plan,
- Reports his targets to Train Design Engineer/Metier manager (QCD consolidation and risks).

o Good knowledge in Thermal Analysis (Conduction, Convection, Radiation, Conjugate Heat Transfer etc) by using ANSYS- Thermal/ SINDA/ P-Thermal etc. Good understanding of Thermodynamics, Materials, Industry Standards and manufacturing knowhow.

Good understanding of vehicle architecture and systems and their methods of installation

Good awareness of the carbody cost drivers and an ability to optimize solutions to achieve a cost effective system that meets the functionality and performance requirements.

o Supports Train Design Engineer in establishing Certification & Validation Plans.

o Organizes Design / Verification reviews and provides the associated reports.

o Manages Technical Solution, Gaps on application part and Product part in accordance with his M?tier.

o Defines and monitors the conformity Mechanical Sub-Systems deliveries and other providers with project needs.

o Supports industrialization and production teams during manufacturing ramp-up.

Educational Requirements

M-Tech in Mechanical Engineering


8+ Years of Experience with M-Tech Mechanical Engineering

Good Knowledge in developing concepts of Stainless steel carbodies and Aluminium carbodies and it's different sub-assemblies, Mountings and Vechicle Architecture of different rail products
