Job Description

Key responsibilities:

Technically mentors a project team of 1-3 engineers to execute the project independently - Control system Hardware/ Software Detail Design, Testing, FAT with customer.
Review project inputs and tender specification; he should be able to clearly capture the scope and understand the expicit and implicit requirements of the project.
Should act as technical interface to customers to be able to propose a solution for the project and is responsible to ensure that projects are executed within agreed schedule and budget to meet the customer requirements
Preparation and participation for turnover meeting or project review meetings with technical queries and scope clarification and sending out meeting notes
Identifying potential issues/risks and flagging them proactively to DLs; propose a mitigation to the risks identified.
Possess the knack to escalate issues in the right time, so as not to affect the project delivery schedule; any escalations with respect to scope-creep must be clearly backed up with evidences.
Ensure defects are monitored and take Corrective Action/Preventive Action to meet quality standards; effective use and compliance with DMS.
Monitors and controls assigned work scope against the project plan, highlights changes to the baselines and risks to the DL 's.
Work independently to develop prototypes and work on engineering deliverables based on customer approved prototypes - must ensure that the team uses approved prototypes.
Identify possible improvement opportunities in processes and standards
Prepare a project specific quality check-list
Ensures that the final deliverable meets the functional specifications of the end user by verifying first level quality check is performed by the designer and doing thorough second level quality checks using quality checklist/software testing/lab testing where applicable
Consistently meet the KPIs that govern customer satisfaction.
Raise and Review RFI and email communications to customers prepared by engineers/Sr. engineers
Preparing engineering estimates and reviewing with DL's
Ensuring time sheet entry into appropriate buckets by every Friday.
Plan Kaizen activities in line with Kaizen Targets; encourage Kaizen Ideas from Team and assign resources
Mentor and train engineers in the team; identify gaps in skill-set and propose a skill development plan to DL.
Maintain a folder structure for the projects being executed and create and update the job workbook on a periodic basis in compliance with the processes.
Raise Safety Observations as per targets defined.


Hardware Tasks/Software Tasks:
Ensuring the completion of hardware/software engineering as per the project/regional requirement and processes to customer satisfaction.

People management Responsibilities

Provide inputs for award recommendations to DLs
Technical mentoring for team members
Inputs for training needs to be provided to DLs
