Apply hydraulics and mechanical system engineering principles and techniques to design and development of hydraulics elements such as pump / metering / valve components and other auxiliary parts which are part of a larger hydraulic system. Plan and lead the evaluation and concept selection.
Develop product level technical specifications for solutions to marketing requirement.
Communicates design approach and tradeoff analysis, leads and responsible for FMEAs/ generate, coordinate, and follow test plans to prove out design feasibility and reliability.
Analytically design-develop/ evaluate hydraulic components like Pumps, Meters and System Design to transfer/ dispense liquids and gases such as CNG, LNG, and LPG etc.
Develop detailed solid models and drawings for solutions using Pro/ENGINEER and/ or Creo2 considering Design for Assembly and Design for Manufacturing.
Selects and specify materials to satisfy design intent while minimizing costs.
Conducts Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing/ GD&T to control hydraulic performance.
Conducts cost feasibility analysis and proposes Target cost proposals and drives them.
Leads Prototype concepts builds/ samples and manages functional validation testing.
Interact with Engineering/ Project Managers/ Design Engineers /System integration Engineers/ Marketing/ Sales team/ Service / Supply Chain team / Manufacturing/ Ops team and coordinates Quality Controls and Measurements to perform engineering change management activities.
Quality and Robustness of design solution for target specifications.
On Time Delivery of design strategy and testing launch of products.
Accuracy of correlating calculations with testing results.
Accuracy in interpretation of design issues (creative thinking) & technical solutions to solve them.
Experience in designing hydraulic components, development and integration into systems for new product introduction or sustenance.
Hands-on 3-D Modeling, 3-D Surfacing, Drawings // Proficient in Pro/ENGINEER/ Creo2.
Sound computational knowledge of Fluid Dynamics and system characterization modelling.
Expert in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing/ GD&T including Stack up analysis.
DFMEA and Lean process understanding is a must.
Ability to understand BOM structures and the impact of a change to documentation.
Familiar with SAP/ ERP software.
Experience in dissecting hydraulic systems to predict performance and reliability over time.
Must possess experience in Engineering Project Management and/ or leading technical teams.
Preferably comes from a solution based background vs. only analytical.
