Job Description

The Principal is required to interact closely with the school advisors and the school management. S/he will report regularly to the school management on school affairs and implement the policies and curriculum for the school. S/he will collaborate with the school management on whole school issues, which include curriculum development, admissions policy, behaviour and discipline, health and safety, inter-school staff meetings, school functions and events.

Implement School Philosophy and Vision

Work to create a rich, stimulating education programme for the school
Promote and lead evolution of the school vision and philosophy
Ensure that all activities in the school are aligned with the schools vision and philosophy

School Development

Share in the management of the schools long-term development
Assist in the planning, development, and upgrade of the school building, equipment, and facilities
Prepare a draft school annual budget

Administrative and Managerial Leadership

Supervise and mentor the Administrative Head and the Administrative department, including the support staff
Guide and mentor the school administration to understand the child-centered and education-centered philosophy of the school; mentor them to interact with teachers and students respectfully and effectively
Be aware of completion timelines for all school compliances and regulatory requirements; and ensure these are up to date
Ensure that all records and documentation are completed and kept up to date in a timely manner
Prepare proper SOPs for various functions, and ensure adherence to these for smooth operations


Analyse staffing requirements on an annual basis
Manage the recruitment of staff for the school
Organise efficient and effective staff deployment

Pastoral Care of Students

Provide an effective, child-centered, and safe pastoral care programme for students
Ensure that all school policies address the safety, and social and emotional needs of the children in the school
Interact with children, fulfilling a counseling and supportive role, to promote healthy interactions
Develop individual talent in each child and promote leadership skills among students

Curriculum Implementation

Manage the curriculum, its implementation, and formative and summative assessments
Plan and organise out-of-classroom activities, field and overnight trips
Ensure that the differentiated and special curriculum needs of students are met (remediation, enrichment, as well as special education)


Analyse aspirations of parents from the catchment area of the school; and devise ways of attracting and retaining students
Network with, and outreach to, the neighbouring communities to bring in admissions to the school
Interview and counsel prospective parents; ensure that parents are eager to place their students in the school
Oversee the student admissions process
Ensure retention of admitted students by creating a safe, engaging, and rigorous learning programme

Parental Engagement

Liaise with parents to encourage positive interaction between the home and the school
Organise parent meetings to discuss children's work and progress
Meet parents when required to discuss problems and concerns

Graduate with a degree in Education/ Educational Administration/ Educational Management

Minimum 10-15 years of teaching experience including at least 3 to 5 years of leadership/ administrative experience, preferably in a similar position in an established CBSE English Medium School.
