Key Responsibilities: Expert understanding of GPON OMCI protocols (G.988 / G.984.x). TR101/TR-156 service models. Have worked on interoperability between at least one of Nokia (Formerly ALU) / Huawei / ZTE / Dassan / Alphion OLT and ONT. Experience in working with ONT with different SoC (Broadcom / Lantiq / Marvell / Mediatek etc). Must have worked in both Routed and Bridge mode ONT. Strong understanding of OMCI Managed Entities (MEs). Dissection of MEs to understand the OLT configurations and advanced debugging. Knowledge of OMCI alarms and performance parameters and their implementation at the ONT / OLT. Reasonable knowledge of optic fiber modules on ONT devices and optical transceivers. Must have handled at least one live customer where the OLT and/or ONT is managed at a live customer and giving customer support for smooth running of services. Should reasonably demonstrate the ability to understand different service provisioning models that are deployed for triple play services. Good understanding of various QoS architectures deployed in FTTX world for service delivery. Interact with third party Vendors and Software development teams, QA. Should be able to independently work with Product Managers. Design and create test conditions and scripts to address JIO field scenarios for making the FTTX devices deployment ready. Use existing tools and techniques to execute test cases and build/script new tools for performing testing / validation function. Develop and lead the automation strategy / effort and generate scripts to perform automated testing cycles using (primarily) bash shell, TCL/TK, PERL, on linux and windows OS. Execute and analysis automation test results. Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate, using JIO internal issue tracking system. Support production deployment of Devices and perform validation testing during the off-hours maintenance windows. Educational Qualifications: MS / M.Tech / BE / B.Tech / MSc - in Electronics / ETC / ECE / CS / IT / Instrumentation with at least 60% or 7 CGPI. Years of Experience: 3 to 8 years Scope of Responsibilities: Must have worked on live debugging of field issues on products or networks. Packet level analysis of protocols. Go deep into the issue and come up with a technical analysis to guide management and vendors. Must have worked as an individual contributor to QA related activities. Automation of test and validation of products using scripting or programming. Knowledge & Skills: Deep understanding of network protocols : Routing- IP / IPV6 / ICMP / BGP / IGP, TCP/IP, DHCP / BOOTP / HTTP / HTTPS / NAT, Data link protocols: ARP, multicast protocols: IGMPv3, RTP, RTSP, VoIP, SIP, SNMP L2 / L3: VLANs / Ethernet header format / ARP / VPN GPON: OMCI / Optics / Fiber ODN / OLT / AMS / ONTs / OMCI Alarms / OMCI performance Monitoring. Programming: Shell / Python / TCL / TK / expect / Selenium OS concepts: Linux networking architecture / Windows / Linux Security, File systems, Firewalls etc. Experience with Multimedia IP set top box testing, Ethernet Home Gateways / Wireless LANs will be added plus.
