Job Description

The financial controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles, local and groups financial reporting standards.
Oversee the operations of the finance department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
Develop team competency and grow leaders internally.
Ensure compliance with all the statutory, legal, accounting/tax country rules, and requirements of applying Group principles on all sites in India.
Optimize profits and returns on investments
Work closely with the senior management team to ensure that the relevant financial information needed to align finance strategy with business goals is available.
Oversee the company accounting operations, especially its control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
Maintain efficient and up-to-date processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
Manage the regional budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with formulated business plans and strategies. Service the business with high-quality, timely and relevant information on past performance and future outlooks.
Oversee treasury functions and controls in line with FX regulations. Deal with all aspects of banking relationships and efficiently manage working capital.
Cash Flow management and reporting in timely manner.
Pay special attention to inter-company and cross-border transactions with reference to transfer pricing regulations.
Provide timely, accurate, meaningful reporting, management information and financial analyses as needed, to both local and headquarters, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, contract negotiations, and commercial proposals for new business / projects
Provide periodic reporting packages, including comparative reports of GAAP operating results and financial position and variance explanations in line with local / group requirements.
Manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P and GL. Oversee revenue recognition, invoicing, receivables collection and doubtful debts.
Act as primary interface with auditors. Ensuring maintenance of proper records as per the external and internal audit requirements.
Generating P&L accounts and annual reports and responsible for finalisation & reconciliation of accounts & financial statements and filing as per Indian GAAP and regulations
Manage and comply with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Ensure that all income tax and other regulatory returns are properly and promptly prepared in order to manage and minimize the companys tax exposures as far as legally possible.
Maintain adequate accounting systems and keep aligned and reconcile between the local Tally accounts systems and the Group SAP system
Successful experience in the fields of Corporate Finance including Budgeting, Treasury Management,
Controlling, Project Management, Tax, Accounting, Purchasing and IT financial systems
Experience in Automotive, Supply Chain or Logistics companies would be an advantage Experience in ERP Systems (SAP, Tally) preferred
Extensive knowledge of Indian / IFRS accounting principles, procedures and standards, statutory reporting and internal control assessments (any knowledge of the UK principles would be a bonus) Good knowledge in Indian taxation and other relevant commercial laws
Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables
Ability to identify areas of concern and raise to appropriate level of management
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work

Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & other Office capabilities
Able to communicate efficiently and effectively, both orally and written, in English, Hindi and local languages skills (i.e. Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati and Bengali)
