Company is a world leader in data storage technology, looking for a Senior HW Engineering Manager to join the Power Team of the Hardware Development Team. The role is to manage, both technical and personnel aspects, of the department. International travel and assignments are highly likely.
This role will include managing:
All aspects of the team, workload, planning, project delivery, staff, labs and equipment
Customer calls and escalation, as well as representing the company as and when required
Managing of external design partners to deliver power solutions
Recruitment, hiring, management and retaining of a high performance power supply development team
Delivery of AC/DC power solutions
he candidate will be educated to degree standard or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or a similar discipline
Advanced engineering degree is preferred
Minimum of 6 years experience of managing an engineering development team.
Strong understanding of technical characteristics and design requirements for high performance AC/DC and DC/DC solutions.
Ability to clearly communicate complex power concepts to customers and internal staff.
Excellent communications skills, both write and verbal/presentation.
A motivated self-starter, who is a good team player and capable of multi-tasking, as well as contributing to the technical aspect of the department
A keen eye for cost effective good quality design practices, executed in an efficient manner without compromising quality/reliability.
Able to lead and design processes and practices to deliver best on class power solutions.
he design of hot-pluggable, redundant PSU systems with high efficiency design topologies
Strong knowledge of the market, specific technical requirements, of the Storage industry, and its customers and products that Seagate produce to service it.
Any relevant experience in managing a technical department of highly skilled engineers, including CPLD/VHDL, PCB design, Power Supplies, Lion Battery Systems, EMC, Safety, Electronics design and practices/processes
Ability to lead a team and provide high quality results with minimal oversight and technical direction from your management.
Experience recruiting and hiring a high performance engineering team.
Minimum of 5 years working in a storage solution company is preferred.
Experience with safety, EMI/EMC and compliance practices is preferred.
Experience with DC/DC power solutions is preferred. , Please refer to the Job description above
