Oversees the activities of the organization's legal department. Provides legal advice and interpretation to senior management regarding contracts, state/federal regulatory requirements, intellectual property or trademark protection, or other business affairs.
Coordinates the work of internal or external legal staff.
Must be a graduate of an accredited law school with at least 8 years of experience as an attorney and admitted into the state bar.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Typically reports to top management.
