Job Description

Job Objective The role of the Procurement Head is to ensure all sourcing strategies are successfully developed, executed and fully implemented - including best practices across the sourcing lifecycle & key stakeholder alignment and purchasing transactions are efficiently executed. Being accountable for target setting in alignment with Procurement goals, and drive Procurement value contribution to the business while ensuring compliance with all Company policies, strategies and processes. To ensure timely procurement of material for plant and projects at competitive prices with reference to quality specifications and due diligence of selected vendors. Job Responsibilities - Develop and manage India Procurement organization - Manage and develop the Procurement Organization and drive continuous improvement of operations, - Deliver a sound yearly sourcing plan, with coherent actions to deliver the targets; - Control the company procurement budget; - Maintain Working capital deployed in raw materials / packaging materials within target; - Support India industrial operation and other administrative and business functions; - Coordinate resource allocation to support factory - Act as a change agent in implementation of new purchasing initiatives; - Coordinate contract implementation of major contracts with factory managers and other users; - Follow-up on contract compliance; define and take corrective actions to improve contract compliance. - Create backward farmer linkages - Lead the team for multicrop sourcing at some point - Drive the Global GAP, INDGAP, initiatives with proper team management Manage supplier relationships on country/local level In line with defined procurement strategy, support the classification and categorization of suppliers, including definition of supplier evaluation and audit policies; - Lead supplier development activities such as setting up cross functional review meetings with suppliers in order to improve performance and further reduce cost; - Initiate and conduct supplier audits; Identify potential contract improvement opportunities and renegotiations - Adopt various techniques for cost efficiency & reduction Manage internal and external customer relationships Manage internal customers- feedback on procurement organization & supplier performance; Work with Finance, Sales and Marketing, Factory managers of owned and third party units, Excise, Custom - and Indirect Tax officials, Traders/Brokers and commission agents, officials at various trade bodies and Custom house agents Lead Procurement talent development in India - Clearly communicate performance expectations and proactively address issues related to performance Skills Required - Previous purchasing experience and an understanding of National and International Procurement Regulations. - Negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills are key to the role as the job will require to lean on networks to get the best price for the business. The incumbent will also need to have good finance abilities and be capable of managing budgets. - Business Acumen - The incumbent will need strong forecasting and planning skills, and the ability to correctly assess the needs of the business. - Strong commercial sense and familiarity with state taxes. - Analytical skills for vendor search/data collection. Maintaining database for key equipment with cost comparisons and lead times Qualification:Agriculture Graduate & MBA Should have a minimum of 12-15 years of experience in Supply chain Logistics, Planning, Vendor Development, Inventory Management, Stores Management and Purchase / Procurement
