Owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents.
Fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs.
Responding to database related alerts and escalations and to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.
Requires a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned.
Establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers.
Initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
Position Requirements, need experience in the following:
Database Administration tasks viz: Disk Management, Permissions, Auditing, etc.
Troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
Hands on experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native and third party tools. Backup, restore and recovery models.
Replication, Compression and Partitioning.
High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server.
Implement operational automation using scripts.
Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.
Hands on experience in T-SQL and PowerShell development.
Knowledge in C# will be a big plus. Working with Windows server; including Active Directory and disk configurations.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Should be comfortable working in shifts and weekends on a rotation basis.
