The Process Design Engineer will be expected to develop expertise on multiple technologies with varying levels of intensity.
Provide Process Engineering expertise throughout the duration of EQUIPMENT projects, including Proposals, Basic Engineering, FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement and Fabrication
Assigned projects will involve a group of related refinery processes and technologies and will include new unit designs and revamps.
Perform basic engineering design including process selection, simulation and equipment sizing
Perform hydraulics and other calculations for sizing of equipment, control valves and piping
Generate documents for design projects including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Project & Equipment Specifications and inputs required for FEED and Detailed Engineering
Develop basic instrumentation and control philosophy specifications
Participate in development and review of basic plant and equipment layout / general arrangement and modular 3-D models
Contribute in processes related to sub-vendors such as Technical Bid Evaluation and Design Progress Review
Contribute as a process engineer in internal and external HAZOP studies of delivered modular process plants
Contribute as a process engineer in interdisciplinary check of defined project deliverables
Complete assigned project work per the agreed scope, schedule and budget
Keep Project Manager informed of progress on assigned tasks. Bring any problems related to scope, schedule and cost to the Project Managers and the Teams notice as early as possible and work towards resolving such issues
Attend and contribute in project team meetings and customer meetings as assigned and agreed with the Project Manager
Adhere to current design practices, tools, technical standards, policies and procedures for completion of assigned tasks
Document all calculations and work processes in a clear, concise format
Represent Equipment and what it stands for
Work with Sales Support to produce optimized process solutions in both the budgetary and fixed proposal phases that can be smoothly handed off for project execution
Perform Customer Specifications Review and contribute to development of Exceptions & Clarifications Communication when required on Fixed Price Proposals.
Participate in new technology development / infrastructure teams when assigned
Keep up to date with customer needs and technologies within assigned area
Recommend and participate in efforts for improvement of technology, design tools, work processes & procedures
Interact closely with Technology Experts, Process Specialists, Skills Specialists (Static, Rotary, Piping, Instrumentation, Electrical, Structural, Metallurgy etc.) and Technical Services to come up with solutions to complex problems
Compliance to Policies including HS&E, HR, Legal Compliance, Intellectual Property Protection, Integrity & Codes of Conduct

Participation in worldwide project teams involving telecommunication and travel for project related meetings and site visits. Travel is driven by customer / project needs and not always planned in advance.
Experience in Oil & Gas / Refining / Petrochemicals industry, preferably in process design, project engineering or technical services areas
Expertise in aspects of Process Engineering such as Process Simulation, Generation of PFD, P&ID & Equipment Specs, Hydraulic Calculation, Process Control, Project Documentation etc.
Familiarity to relevant industrial Codes and Standards
Familiarity with Basic and Detailed Engineering work processes and inter-discipline interactions
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills and presentation skills
A good team player
Experience in refining processes associated with the Naphtha refining (NHT, Isomerization, Catalytic Reforming) and/or Treating Technologies (Mercaptans removal, Sweetening, Amine Treating, Acid Gas Removal) and/or H2 Purification Technologies such as PSA would be a plus
Experience in commissioning, startup, operation, troubleshooting and optimization of refinery plants would be a plus
Expertise in use and output analysis of simulation and design software such as UNISIM, Aspen, HYSYS, HTRI etc.
