Job Description

Work in a 24 X 7 Environment (NOC)Extend technical support to Clients over email and phoneCarry out the advance level of troubleshooting on backup / storage failuresEnsure that the tickets raised per shift are closed as per SLA and if not escalate as per the escalation Matrix definedTechnically update the tickets in ticketing system for all the issues handled / worked uponEnsure that change requests are implemented as per defined timelinesFollowing up with Vendors – whenever required & resolve issues by minimizing downtimesSend periodic backup failure reportsCarry out firmware/backup upgrades as and when required after approval from team lead/customerCarry out implementations of storage, backup & DR tools as and when requiredWork with intra departmental teams to isolate & troubleshoot customer issues (OS/Cloud/DB etc...)Create workflows in DR Management tool & manage its configurationVerify & audit mock backup restorationsTimely execution of SIP related task allocated by Team leadPrepare pro-active performance reportsWork towards automation of day to day tasksCarry out patch & bug updates at regular intervals and do the necessary follow-up with customerAdhere to shift timings and shift handover processPrepared Incident Reports for S1 incidents (to be attached to RCA reports)Ability to learn, implement & adapt new applications / tools etc...Conduct Load Testing of setups as and when required

Mandatory Technical Skills:

Experience in at least 1 backup software - Symantec Netbackup, CA Arc serve, HP Data protector etc...Exposure in at least 1 storage subsystems - EMC, Hitachi, HP, NetApp etc...Exposure in upgradation of storage firmware, tape libraries, backup software versionsBasic knowhow of OS administration - Windows or UnixAble to perform Hard zoning, soft zoningExposure on migration of backup, storagesBasic knowledge of backup h/w devices
