The Physical Security Lead is responsible for directing all physical security related activities within his region so as to ensure the safe functioning of business operations and client mandates. Further,
I. Direct the security staff in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining security processes across Cognizant, to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability in order to reduce financial/reputational loss to the organization.
II. Identify significant security risks, design and implement strategies and programs to prevent/reduce loss of organization assets within his region.
III. Interacts with BU and collaborates with other support functions in the achievement Companys Security objectives. Coordinates with CS Risk team and conduct client Audits.
IV. Understands the challenges of offshore business model and provides solutions to address client requirements. Interacts with clients & client compliance teams and makes required presentation as part of client assurance.
V. Coordinates and directs corporate level emergency planning, Control room/BMS operations and crisis management functions.
VI. Implement risk reduction through increased security awareness.
VII. Coordinate and implement site security, operations and activities to ensure protection of executives, managers, employees, physical and information assets, while ensuring optimal use of personnel and equipment.
VIII. Researches and deploys state of the art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safe guard organization assets.
IX. Develops and manages the capital expense budget and services contracts for the companys domestic security operations..
X. Develops close relationships with high level domestic law enforcement, Intelligence agencies and private sector counterparts.
XI. Develops consensus within the organization from operational activities and regulations imposed by agencies with regulatory jurisdiction.
XII. Ensure contractual compliance and compliance to all rules & regulation of the state as well as labour law requirements.
XIII. Coordination with the Local BCP Team.
XIV. Gather relevant information relating to the incident, notify all incidents of a security nature and ensures incident log/investigation file.
XV. Provide security support to events/all hand meets On or Off site.
XVI. Effectively communicates and escalates emergency situations to the proper stakeholders and takes charge of providing timely resolution of life-safety or security emergencies..
XVII. Collaborates with business units to formulate risk and vulnerability mitigation strategies and performs related follow-up and reporting activities. Establishes policies, controls, practices, processes and develops measurement tools to track results..
XVIII. Assist with investigation of crimes, and employee misconduct. Performs data analysis to identify trends, risks and formulates corrective action plans. Conducts preliminary Cost/Benefit analyses & assists Manager with strategic planning for programs, budgets, goals and objectives.
XIX. Coordinate with the Security Technical Infrastructure vendor, manages the design, implementation and user education of access control and protection systems.
XX. Provides advisory services for new facilities, moves and other changes to facility infrastructure. Interprets policies on access control, secure areas, asset protection and life safety for project teams. Works closely with asset managers, leased building management and other service providers. Prepares detailed written reports, analyses trend data and draws conclusions that can be translated into solutions to customer and departmental problems.
XXI. Identifies security awareness deficiencies among business units, recommends and coordinates delivery of solutions with support from CS Team.
