SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Application Engineer position is responsible for product recommendation, analysis, testing in Lab and Application support to customer for using products. This role requires in-depth product and technology knowledge and communication skills. The Application Engineer will often need to work with global technology team. This position also requires significant interface with customers. DIMENSIONS: The Application Engineer Position requires the following breadth: Knowledge: Applies extensive technical expertise and has full working knowledge of other related disciplines. Problem solving: Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Discretion/Latitude: Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Impact: Contributes to the completion of specific projects. Liaison: Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects. NATURE AND SCOPE: Position will report to the Sales Manager and will have dotted reporting to the Technology Manager. Provides technical advice to customers and sales team for successfully implement product or service solutions that will meet the customers needs. Pre-sales activities include analyzing customers technical needs and suggest solutions. Post-sales activities include resolving implementation problems and conducting user training. Collect and analyze information from customers to understand their business and their technical needs. Develop technical proposals of how the products and services can meet customer needs and be integrated and implemented with the customer's existing systems and equipment. Develop and deliver technical presentations and respond to technical questions regarding the organizations product, system, or service. Estimate the costs, resources, time, and technical requirements of modifying, configuring, and installing the organizations products and services to meet customer needs. Respond to customer questions and troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve technical problems that arise during trials or during production stage. Train customers for the application of products they have purchased. Work with dispensing equipment manufacturers to provide end to end solution for customer needs, ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Provide technical assistance to customer to select right products. 2. Develop application procedure for use of EM material for Customers for successful product trials. 3. Work with global team to understand available products offering. 4. Adherence to company Policy. 5. Teamwork with Sales team to win new business. 6. On time and effective completion of all assigned individual, team and personal goals. 7. Quick learner to adopt new technologies. 8. Conduct Lab trials in Nashik plant if needed. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AN EMPLOYEE MUST MEET TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE JOB MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in Engineering (e.g. Materials Science & Engineering, Polymer Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering) with at least 3 years of in-depth experience. 1. Testing/integrating adhesive or other chemical materials for Auto or industrial or electronics industry. 2. Have a track-record of working directly with customers, experience with customers manufacturing processes, leading technical customer interactions. 3. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment. 4. Be able to work effectively and efficiently across various functional groups. 5. Possess sound communication skills, be highly organized, and excel in a team environment. 6. Have excellent problem solving skills, excellent time management skills, and be able to work with minimal supervision. NON-MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1.
