Job Description

Job purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to progress the roll-out of a Microsoft Dynamics NAV upgrade to our overseas subsidiaries. Existing subsidiaries are using Navision 3.7 or NAV2009R2 and need to be upgraded to NAV2015 (W1 or Local version as deemed necessary). We need to assess and address local requirements, but broadly the aim is to upgrade based on an template database (NAV2015 W1 version with bespoke modifications for contracts and licensing).In parallel we must identify additional needs during a discovery phase to form a follow-up project, which would be resourced by a separate team.

The role has no direct reports and will be internally facing, involving collaboration with the Worldwide Finance, Contract and Licence admin teams as well as individuals with technical specialisms in IT. This position will be based in the Hyderabad office but will require an extended stay at the Cambridge office in the UK of 4-6 weeks at the outset, to become familiar with our project processes and the modifications. Thereafter, travel to regional offices may be required during individual implementations.

Principal Accountabilities

Develop a good understanding of the bespoke modifications to become effective in testing and first-line user support during upgrade.
Manage the Project Discovery phase, which is likely to be via WebEx. This will involve a critical review of the functionality used in the current version, providing background information for the Project Team. As part of this review, identify reports routinely used by Finance, and establish the gap between current functionality and that in the NAV2015 template database. Assess if this original functionality is still required in the NAV2015 version. Recommend enhancements as necessary, clearly identifying to the NAV Management Team if theseareto meet local requirements only, or are recommended to be deployed to all.
For approved enhancements, prepare the Functional Requirement Document and work with the Developer to deliver and test the enhancement. Where the enhancement is to be deployed throughout then update the Template Test Plan with the necessary additional test cases for future use, and update the User Guides.
On behalf of Finance, sign-off the upgraded test database with respect to functionality, data, reports, and user security. To achieve this, you will need to execute test cases, reconcile data and work with local users to ensure that all their current processes are supported in the upgraded database.
Train users as required, by an appropriate method WebEx, face to face, videos, etc.
During the live upgrade, own the process from a Finance perspective; reconciling data and managing initial user transactions to validate system integrity. Support users during the first weeks following upgrade as they adjust to the new interface and functionality.

Knowledge, skills &experience required:

Ideally part qualified/qualified accountant, but may be considered based on proven and extensive experience of working with Finance teams. Will need to demonstrate a good knowledge of key finance processes including double entry.
Expert knowledge of Dynamics NAV 2015financial modules, and a sound aptitude for Finance IT systems in general.
Experienced in deploying both W1 and local versions of NAV2015 in different geographical locations
Good knowledge of MS Office (particularly Word, Excel, Outlook)
Good communicator; both written and verbal.
Ability to work logically and methodically with an attention to detail is essential, whilst maintaining an overview of the bigger picture
Ability to work with staff at different levels throughout the organisation and be able to influence them as appropriate
Ability to work with staff from different countries and cultures and be receptive to their requirements,whilst maintaining consistent Group finance systems principles
Ability to work on own initiative and be able to deliver against requirements with minimum supervision
Team player who can work closely with all disciplines within the business
Foreign languages would be of benefit
Travel to overseas offices will be required
